Procedure for Measurement of Area of Irregular Figures by Digital Planimeter

PREPARATION


1. Paste or fix the drawing paper containing area on a drawing board. Place
the roller at the positioning which will make a right angle with the main
body. By tracing the outline of the figure, if any inconvenient movement of
the roller is found, then the position of the roller is adjusted.


PROCEDURE:                                                                                                                                              


2. Press "ON" key to switch on the power supply.
3. Select the unit by using 2 keys of "UNIT-1" and "UNIT-2".
4. Put a mark like 'A' on the outer periphery of use it as a staring point.
5. Press "START" key, the buzzer sound lightly. Confirm that display shows
o. Then trace the figure by lens (tracing point) clocking round the
circumference of the figure and close on starting point. The area of figure
will be displayed on display panel.
6. Bigger areas are subdivided into two or three parts of convenience.
7. By the use of "MEMO" and "AVER" keys, the same area can be measured
number of times and its mean value can be obtained for increased
measuring accuracy.
8. Report the area separately on drawing sheet.
